their Agreement for
a Lease referred back
to Committee


Years and so continue the same during the full Terms of the
Leases hereby agreed to be granted and that they the said William
and John Camden< no role > their Executors and Administrators will repay
to the said governors the Expence of such first Insurance before or
at the time of the Execution of such Lease and afterwards at the End
of every seven Years as the same shall be renewed by the said governors
from time to time during the said Terms and the said William and
John Camden< no role > do hereby further Consent and agree that in such
Intended Lease shall be Inserted a Covenant on the part of the said
William and John Camden< no role > for payment of the money so to be
Advanced and paid by the said governors for such first and other
Insurance of the same Premises in manner aforesaid and all other
Covenants usually contained in Leases Granted to the Tenants of
this Hospital and particularly that they the said William and John
Camden
< no role > shall not Let Assign Transfer or set over such Leases without
Licence Whereupon the said William and John Camden< no role > your
two Guineas to the poors Box and agreed to accept a Lease of the
Premises above mentioned on the Terms aforesaid and to Execute a
Counterpart and to pay for such Lease and Counterpart Provided
always that nothing contained in this Agreement is to be conclusive
or binding between the said parties until the same has received a
Confirmation of a General Court." This Court having duly
weighed and considered the Minute of the said Agreement doth
Order that it be referred back to the said Committee to reconsider the
same and this Court is of Opinion that the said Committee do not
Let the said Premises for any longer Term than 99 Years.

A Motion being made and seconded that the
Appointment or discharge of the Porter of Bethlem Hospital be
for the future in the treasurer for the time being when upon debate
of the matter another Motion was made and seconded That the
treasurer and Weekly Committee have power to discharge the
Porter of Bethlem Hospital and that they have also power to
Appoint and recommend a proper person (being one of the Basket
Men or Assistant Basketmen) to supply his place till the next
General Court and the Question being put the last mentioned Motion was
carried in the Affirmative.
