governors Reported that in Pursuance of an Order of Court of the
17th. of December last they had made an Inquiry and found that
Francis Elton< no role > late Apprentice to Abraham Phillipps< no role > is set up
for himself in his Trade and has the Character of a Diligent and
Sober Man It is Ordered that the Steward Do pay the said
Francis Elton< no role > Ten Pounds out of Mr. Locks Gift to be allowed
him in his next Account

himself in his Trade and has the Character of a Diligent and
Sober Man It is Ordered that the Clerk Do pay the said Isaac
Simpson

Upon Reading the Humble Petition of James Penney
Citizen and Needlemaker settingforth that he served his
Apprentiship in this Hospital to Joseph Sharpe< no role > late one of the
Artmasters by Indenture dated 25th. April 1765 and by Order
of Court of 17th. December 1772 was made free of this City the 15th
of January last is set up for himself in his Trade at No. 5
in Evangelist Court Black Fryars and praying part of Mr
Fowkes Gift It is Ordered that Charles vere< no role > Esqr .
Edward Umfreville< no role > Esqr . and Mr. Richard Crowther< no role > or
any two of them be desired to Inquire whether the said
James Penney be set up for himself in his said Trade and
of his hopefulness therein and Report the same to the
Court

of Wapping Esqr . setting forth "That by Indenture dated the
17th. December 1755 Your Worships demised to Hugh Roberts< no role >
Esquire your Petitioners late Fathere two Messuages and a Yard
at Wapping Dock To hold from Christmas then last past for
21 Years at the Rent of £20 That the said Hugh Roberts< no role >
lately Died having first duly made his Will and Appointed
your Petitioner his Executor who duly proved the same and hath
lately contracted with Richard Dunthorne< no role > of Wapping Founder
for his Interest in the said Premises and therefore praying
That he might have leave to Assign the Lease of the aforesaid
Premises unto the said Richard Dunthorne< no role > for the residue of
