Upon Reading a Report from the Comittee of this House bearing date the 30th. of
March 1748 under the hands of Edward Holloway< no role > Esqr . Trear . Dr . Richard Rawlinson< no role >
Mr. Richard Burbydge< no role > Mr. John Lee< no role > . Mr. Deputy Hunt as followsAt this Comittee
the Petition of Stephen Seane Esqr . (which was referred to them by Order of Court the
23d. March last) was read Setting forthThat the Petr. by Virtue of Several Mesne
Assignments is become Intilled to the House late Sanders which has a Door way into
Fowks Court als Dolphin Court in Fewer Street at sess Ann rent for the said Doorway The
Lease where of has been some time ExpiredThat he proposes to take a New lease of
the said Door way for 29 years to Comence from Michas last at the yearly rent of ses
and to Execute a Counter part of such LeaseAnd praying a Lease According
to the said proposalsAnd Mr. Bamsden who Attended the Comittee on the behalf
of the said Mr. Seane being called in proposed to give £40 P Ann Rent and to pay a
Time of 5 GuineasWhereupon the Comittee haveing Considered the said
proposals are of Opinion to Accept the sameAll which is Nevertheless Submitted
to the Judgment of the Court and it is Ordered this Opinion to reported to the Court
This Court haveing duely weighed and Considered the said Report doth Confirm
the same

Upon Reading a Report from the Comittee of this House bearing date the 30th. of
March last under the hands of Edward Holloway< no role > Esqr Trear Dr . Richard Rawlinson< no role >
Mr. Deputy Hunt Mr. John Lee< no role > & Mr. Richard Burbydge< no role > as followsThis Comittee
Viewed the Back part of the Southside of this Hospital & pound it in a very bad Condition
at the Top and that it is nessary to take down the Ballement Wall & the Wall under
the Gutler about 4½ feet & to New lay the Lead GutlerUpon which they Ordered the
Bricklayer, Carpenter Plumber Painter & Smith to make an Estimate of the Charge
there of which they have done & it is here to Annext Amounting to £963But this
Comittee cannot make any Agreement for the same by reason of an Order of Court
of the 30th. of Novr. 1739 That is Contract be made for Provisions or other Matters for the use
of these Hospitals Exceeding in the whole £20 without first public bring at Least 14 days
Notice in the Publick news Papers for Agreeing with the person a persons who shall after to
Contract at the lowest priceAnd as there are so may Several Workman to be employd
in th doing this Repair The Comittee are of Opinion the Publishing and receiveing
Proposals for the same would be only giveing them a great deal of Unnecessary
Trouble without any benefit to the HospitalAnd that therefore this be Reported to
the next Court for their further directions thereinThis Court haveing duely
weighed and Considered the said Rogers doth Order that the said repairs be done So
desire the Comittee to Agree with the Workmen for the same

Alderman before yr 1743. to be

Ordered That the Steward do wait upon the Aldermen who were Elected before
April 1743 & have not Served the Office of Steward of the Election Feast of these
Hospitals and desire to know who their they will be pleased to Soree the said
Office this Year

Govrs Standing Rule. one can
Nominate but present first & who
has been Stewd. of Election to all}

Resolved That it is the Standing Rule of this House that no one can be
nominated to be a Governor but by a Governor present in Court who has
Served the Office of Steward of the Election Feast of these Hospitals
