that the same might be laid before the Court for their directions therein It is Ordered that
the Comittee of Bethlem Hospital be desired to examine the said Bills and order such moneys

Workmen to leave an accot.
of their work & materials daily
wth the Porter of Bethlem }

Upon reading a Resolution of the Grand Comittee of Bethlem Hospital bearing date the 18th
day of April last as fellows Vizt.We find by our Books that on the 20th. of Febry
1735. Apothecarys Tradesmen and Workmen are ordered by the Grand Comee to attend with
their Vouchers at such time as the Comittee takes into Consideration the payment of their Bills,
And that all Workmen imployed in the repairs of this Hospital do every day set down in Writing
& leave with the Porter an account of that days work & materials provided and that the Porter
do examine and file the same to be compared by the Steward with the Bills before they are
tendred for payment, and that no repairs be entred upon without the direction of the Treasurer

Which Order we observe have not been regarded as they ought to be and that it does not
appear to us that when many of the Bills for Work done are brought before us any order
appears to be entred in the books for the doing of such Work

No Work above 40s value to
be done without order of Comee}

Therefore we Order that the Order of the 20th. of Febry 1735. be observed or in
default thereof that the Workmen disobeying be never again imployed by the Comittee And
that no Work above the Value of Forty shillings be done on account of the Hospital without
an order of the Comittee to be entred in their Book And We direct that this resolution be laid
before the next Court for their Opinion thereinThis Court having considered of the
said Resolution doth confirm the same.
