Upon Reading a Report from the Comittee of Bridewell Hospital
bearing date the 24th. day of January 1734/5 under the hands of
the Right Worshipfull Humphry Parsons< no role > President , Mr John Lee< no role > ,
Mr Deputy John Smart< no role > , Mr. Edward Whitehouse< no role > and Phillips Scarth< no role >
Esqr. in the words and figures following Vizt. In Pursuance of
an Order of Court of the 5th day of December last This Comee have
taken into Consideration the Petition of Timothy Tennant< no role > the Elder
and Timothy Tennant< no role > the Younger praying a Lease for 21 Years of
an House near King Edward's Stairs called the Golden Cock in Wapping
(No. 35) to comence from Christmass last at a Rack Kent or to pay a
Ground Rent and Fine, And the said Mr Tennant the Elder & Younger
being called into this Comeeproposed to pay the yearly Rent of
£28 clear of all Parliamentary and other Taxes and to take a Lease
for the Term aforesaid with the usual Covenants contained in the
Leases granted by the Govrs of this Hospital to their Tenants, being
allowed one year's Rent to put the premisses into Repair and to execute
a Couterpart of such LeaseThis Comittee are of Opinion to
accept of the said proposal Whereupon the said Mr Tennant gave
one Guinea to the Poor's Cox And it is ordered that this Opinion
be reported to the CourtAll which nevertheless is submitted to
the Judgment of the CourtThis Court doth confirm the Sd Report
and order that a Lease be made to the said Timothy Tennant< no role > the Elder
and Timothy Tennant< no role > the Younger accordingly
