Upon reading the humble Petition of
Thomas Atkins< no role >
Junr. Beadle
of this hospital Setting forth That his father who
dyed about four years ago was an artsmar
. in this hospital forty
years but by Lesses was reduced and for Several years the Petr
maintained both him and his Mother (who is Still liveing) upon
DischargeThat he has a wife and two Children and nothing to
Subsist on but his Imployment in this hospital That when he was
porters man he lookt after ye Convicts and intended to petition for a
Gratuity for his extraordinary Service if he had continued in that Imploymt.
That the Beadles place being no more than Twelve pounds P
Annum he and his family are hardly able to Subsist and
praying Such further allowance towards their maintenance
in Such manner as to the Court Shall Seem meet It is Ordered
That the consideration of the said Petition be referred to the Comee
of this house who are desired to Report then Opinion thereon to this
Court
