widdow Petition for Charity}

Upon reading the humble petition ofFowler widdow Setting forth
That her husband was an Artsmaster Sixty Years and laid out above fifty
pounds in his Appartment but at his death left the Petr. in very poore
Circumstances with three Children whom she make hard Shift to
maintain by makeing Silk Gloves whilst she lived in the Hospital
Rent free but even then was forced to run in Debt and now she is turn'd
out of the Hospital her Creditors threaten to sue her and her Customers
know not where to find her so that she is like to be utterly ruined And
praying the Court to best on upon her Something towards her Releife
It is Ordered that the said Petition doly upon the Table

Nusance of Dung Barges}

Upon reading the humble petition of Theophilus Armitt< no role > , Edward
Cordwell< no role > and Jeremia Thornhill< no role > on behalfe of themselv's and the
rest of the Inhabitants of Bridewell Precinct Setting forth that
Robert Sandford< no role > an undertenant of John Olly< no role > who has a Lease of
Fleet Ditch permitting Dung Barges to ly at the Lower end of the
said Ditch is Dayly Nusance to the Inhabitants and all persons
that come to them in so much that their Customers threaten to leave
'em if it be not removedThat the Shooting and laying of dung
at the said Ditch is an Infringement on the Right of ye Proprietors
of the Citty Laystalls One of which being at White Fryers and
another at Puddle Dock wou'd be the most proper place to lay the
said Dung which is such an Annoyance that it will be a
discouragement to the Hospital Tent. to Renew or others to take
Leases And praying the Court to use Some Means to prevent
the said Nusance for the futureThe Petrs. were Called and
none of them Attending It is Ordered that the sd Petition doly
upon the Table
