That on the seventh May last The Publick And it of accounts
of these Hosplls to Michas 1702 being then stated And the respective
ballances due to the said Hosplls from the Worspll: the Treasurer
and other Officers being settled they did all of them acknowledge
under their hands what was so due from each of them except-

(who was by order of this Court dated the 23th
Febry 1698 recomended to him to be employed under him in ye
affairs and busyness of these Hosplls had wthout his knowledge
or direction received some of the rents belonging to these Hosplls
wch he had not brought to Account nor paid to him And that
in case he should signe the said Accounts he prsumed [..] he
should be chargeable therewith And therefore desired he might
be discharged from the same before he Signed the said Accounts
And thereupon this Court debateing the matter the order of the
23th Febry 1698 was read whereby it did appeare That the said

of these Hosplls in the affairs and busyness thereof was
recomended by this Court as a proper person to be Imployed
under such Clerk as should be then elected And that it was ye
desire of this Court that such new Clerk should accept the said
Tho: Ashburner accordingly Whereupon this Court did declare
that the said Tho: Ashburner< no role >
being so recomended by this Cols.
to the said Benjamin Timme and haveing reced the said rent
wthout his knowledge or direccon he the said Benjamin Timme< no role >
ought not to be charged therewith And did therefore Order That
It be referred to the Comittee of the Hospll of Bridewell
to Inspect
the Accounts betweene the said Benjamin Timme and the said
Thomas Ashburner< no role >
And to report to this Court what rents or
money the said Tho: Ashburner< no role >
hath received belonging to the
said Hospll: And what is due from the said Benjamin Timme to
the said Tho: Ashburner for wages or otherwise And thereupon
this Court will give further directions therein as is just and necessary
