Beadles of Bridewell
2 Chaldron of coles:


Upon the humble Petition of the Four Beadles & porter Man
of the Hospll. of Bridewell Shewing that all the Officers belonging
to the sd. Hospll. (Except the petrs) are allowed Coles at the sd. hosplls
Charge and that they have all of them great Familys to
maintaine and their sallaryes are soe very small & theck
perquisitts soe Inconsidr. able (not one halfe of the prisoners
comitted to the sd. Hospll: being able to pay their Fees) They
are Scarse able to Subsist Humbly praying therefore That
this Cort. would be pleased to give them some allowance
of Coles as is given to the other Officers of the sd. Hospll It
is Ordered by this Cort That Two Chaldron of Coles a years
be allowed to each of the sd: Beadles during the pleasure
of this Cort but that noe such allowance be made to the sd
porters man till further Ordr: he having at this since incurr'd
the Displeasure of this Cort for a Misdemeanor by him comitted
