Also Upon the humble peticon of Matthew Pottley< no role > who was
brought us an Apprentice with John Gilbert< no role > and Wm: Elsley< no role >
Prinmaker (both being Artsmasters of the Hospitall of Bridewell )
bothand who having Served them faithfully the Terme of his
Apprenticeshipp and being Sett up for himself in his sd Trade
did heretofore by the favour of this Court Receive five Pounds
of Mr Locks, gift, for Some further part thereof the better to
enable him to carry on his said Trade, It is Ordered by this
Court That Capt Emmr and Mr Shiter (two of the Governor
of this Hospitals) be Desired to make Inquiry concerning the
said Matthew Pottley< no role > how he hath improved the Five pounds
he formerly recd, and of his hopefulness in his Said Trade
and to make Report thereof to the next Court

Cordwayner of London who was brought up [..] Apprentice with
Robert Frost< no role > Shoemaker (one of the Artsmasters of the Hosptl of
Bridewell ) and served him faithfully all his apprenticeshipp & such
made a freeman of this Duty by the approbacon of this Court
and Sett up for himselfe (as he alleadgeth) on Saffron Hill
for some part of Mr Locks Gift the better to enable him to carry on
and manage his said Trade It is Ordered by this Court That
Mr Backingham Mr Bonithen and Mr Kniveton (Govermrs of this
Hospitall) or any two of them be Desired to make Inquiry whither
the said Henry Heaton< no role > be see Sett up for himselfe in his said Trade
and of his behaviour and hopefullness therein, and to make Report
thereof to the next Court

Also upon the humble peticon of John Jones< no role > Citizen Glover of London
who was brought up Apprentice with Benjamine Clare< no role > Glover (one of the
Artsmasters of the Hosptl of Bridewell ) & Served him faithfully all his
apprenticeship & Since made a freeman of this Citty by the approbacon of
this Court and Sett up for himselfe [..] in his sd Trade at one Frederick
Smith
< no role > in Blackfryers (as he alledgeth) for Some part of Mr. Locks
Gift the better to enable him to follow his sd Trade It is Ordered
by this Court That Mr James Smith< no role > Majr Kilby and Mr Ashton
(Govermrs of this Hosptl) or any two of them be Desired to make Inquire
whither the John Jones< no role > before sett up for himselfe in his sd Trade &
of his behaviour & hope fullness therein And to make Report thereof to ye
next Court.
