Comittee of Bridewell
to view Houses Etc:
in Water Street


At this Court It is Referred to the Comittee of the
Hospitall of Bridewell to view the Shedd near King Edwards
Staires late in the holding of mrs Oxley; and to Consider whither
It may be advisable for the Hospitall to build on the ground
thereof, or what may be the best meanes for the Improvement
thereof, and also to view the Rooms or Apartments which
were lately in the tenure of mr Hame & not comprehended
in the Lease lately lett (or Agreed for) by this Court to Francis
Godman
< no role > . and to treat with the Sd mr Godman for the Same
And Report to the next Court.

Also Upon Reading a Report of the Comitte for the
Hospitall of Bethlem touching what Estate John Carter< no role >
late Steward of the Said Hospll left at the time of his decease
And It appearing by the Said Report That the Said John
Carter
< no role > dyed possed of Two Leases of Severall houses and
Ground in Spittle fields and in Southwark of the value of
between thirtye & fortye pounds P ann: It it by this Court
Referred back to the Said Comittee to Speak wth mrs Carter
(Relict of the Said John Carter< no role > ) and to Know of her whither She
be willing to part wth the Said Leases for the Payment of the
Debt oweing by her husband to the Said Hospll at the time of
his decease. Or how She does Propose to [..] Satisfie ye Sd Debt-
And to make Report to the next Court.

Also Upon the humble Peticon of William Brown< no role > Weaves (one of
the Artsmastrs of the Hospll of Bridewell ) Setting forth That
the house wherein he now lives (wth was lately belonging to a Shoemaker )
has not conveinency of Shopp Roome for the Trade he drives
nor for near Soe many Apprentices as he can Employ in his Sd.
Trade And therefore humbly Praying this Court That at Such
him as the widow Clark Relict of Caleb Clark< no role > late one of the
Artsmasters in ye Sd Hospll desd) Shall leave the Sd Hospll He
may have leave to Remove [..] to the house late of the Sd Caleb
[..] Clark And Severall of the Governrs giving a good Acct
of the Sd Wm Brown< no role > , and that he is a considerable Trader
The Same is Granted by this Court and Ordered accordingly.
