Examination TextThe Examination of Ann Moran, widow, lodging at a house let out in tenements in Jackson's Alley in Russell Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields taken upon oath this 14th Day of February in the year of our Lord 1758. This Examinant on her oath saith that she very well knows James Larney, aged five years, and Elizabeth aged about three years, the reputed issue of Terence Larney (who is run away and left the said children in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields) by Margaret his wife who is now under sentence of death in Newgate, that the said Terence Larney and Margaret his wife were born in Ireland and never did any act to gain a settlement in England to this Examinant's knowledge, that the said James in Elizabeth were both born at Mrs Davis's next door to the Greyhound in Drury Lane in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields and further this Examinant saith not. Sworn the day and year abovesaid before Thomas Balack.
