These are to Certifye that Martha Widdow Johnson< no role > was lately
brought before me upon suspicon for selling of Stolle Plate
And upon Examinacon it Appeared to me that one Henry Merlin< no role >
Tould her, it was his owne Plate. and Desired her to sell it for him
Whereupon It Nued forth my Warrt. agt. ye sd Merlin, and ordered her
to be kept in Custodye, untill hee ye sd Merlin was Apprehended
And (as I under paid since) one John Kempton< no role > a Constable had him
in Custody senall houres by vertue of my Warrt. & after lett him
Escape, veluch I not then knowing. Comitted ye. sd Widd Johnson to Prison
Where she was Confined five or 6: dayes, But finding her Inoccent
in the Matter & not Guilty of ye. Fact. at first laid to her Charge
Ordered her out of Prison Upon Payle, And bound over the said
Constable, for his remitness in the Due Execucon of his office
This I am well Satisfied off, And Dont not but the Honoble. Court
haveing heard the same. will take her Case into Consideracon, And
be likewise Well satisfied of her Innocencye & integrity in this Matter
