Who being upon Oath says that on Saturday Evening the 21st.
of May last she was at the Apartments of Catherine Smith< no role >
now
present, that about ten 'o'Clock a person now present who calls
himself John Rann< no role > This name instance is in set 1255.
came to the said Catherine Smith's in a Coach
with Boots on , that the said John Rann and the said Catherine
Smith went into the said Catherine Smith's Bed Room together,
that some little Time afterwards the same Evening the said Catherine
Smith told this Informant that the said John Rann had given her
five Guineas in Money and a Watch, that the next Morning the
said Catherine Smith shewedtoldthis Informant a Silver Watch in a
black Shagreen Case now produced and told her that was the
Watch that the said John Rann had given her over night, that
on the Monday Evening following some Officers came to search
the said Catherine Smiths' Apartments at which time the said
Catherine Smith had the said Watch by her side, that the said
Catherine Smith gave the said Watch to this Informant and She
put it under the Cover of a Chair, that on Wednesday last the
said Catherine Smith's Servant Margaret delivered the said Watch
to this Informant who carried it to Mr. Allam the Watchmaker,
and this Informant further says that on the above mentioned
Saturday the said Catherine Smith told this Informant that
the said John Rann [..] was gone out to rob on the
Highway and that she expected him home with some Money
