<p n="129"> great Benefit to this County in the following<lb></lb>
Instances, viz.</p>
<p n="130">By lessening the Expence of this<lb></lb>
County on the Article of Vagabonds up-<lb></lb>
wards of £350. the Year the said Order took<lb></lb>
Place, compared with the preceeding Year;<lb></lb>
and if the whole Magistracy of this County<lb></lb>
had conformed themselves to the said Order,<lb></lb>
the Expence then would have been lessened<lb></lb>
full 500 Pounds.</p>
<p n="131">By the Cautions given in the said Order<lb></lb>
of Sessions respecting Frugality in disposing<lb></lb>
of the Publick Money paid to the Appre-<lb></lb>
henders of Vagabonds that Article decreased<lb></lb>
upwards of £178. the last Year compared<lb></lb>
with the preceeding one.</p>
<p n="132">By putting the effectual Stop to the grant-<lb></lb>
ing Vagrant Passes to the casual Poor, where<lb></lb>
no Act of Vagrancy had been committed,<lb></lb>
or otherwise the Orders of conveying are<lb></lb>
thereby lessened upwards of £700. compared<lb></lb>
with the Year preceeding.</p>
<p n="133">By producing more regular Proceed-<lb></lb>
ings upon the Vagrant Act, particularly as<lb></lb>
much larger Number of Duplicates of Passes<lb></lb>
and Examinations appear to be returned to<lb></lb>
Sessions in Proportion to the Orders issued<lb></lb>
for Rewards to the Apprehenders of Vaga-<lb></lb>
bonds, whereby the Conviction of incorrgi-<lb></lb>
ble Rogues is rendered more certain.<lb></lb>

other Lodgment of Vagabonds four Times<lb></lb>
a Week, as mentioned in the 18th Article of<lb></lb>
the said Report will produce a further fav-<lb></lb>
ing to this County upon the Article of Va-<lb></lb>
gabonds. And by conveying such Vaga-<lb></lb>
bonds by the Means of one Person instead of<lb></lb>
the Constables at large, the Detection of in-<lb></lb>
corrigible Rogues will be rendered more cer-<lb></lb>
tain, and this County will be relieved from<lb></lb>
the repeated Expence occasioned by the Re-<lb></lb>
turn of Vagabonds after being punished and<lb></lb>
passed.</p>
