Precinct Meeting

At a Meeting of the Inhabitants of the North and
South Precincts of this Parish held the 16th day of December 1762 .

Mr Church Warden Hebert acquainted the Gentlemen present
that this Precinct Meeting was Summoned pursuant to publick
Notice given in the Church for the choice of Ward Officers for
the year ensuing vizt. Constables Scavengers and Inquest Men

And Mr John Froud< no role > (one of the people called Quaters) being
first in Nomination was put up to serve the Offices of Constable
and Scavenger for the year ensuing and chose

And Mr James Cue being next in Nomination was also put
up to serve the Offices of Constable Scavenger and Inquest Man
for the Year ensuing and chose

Collectors of
Lamp Tax

Then Mr John Phillibrown< no role > and Mr Richard Oswald were
severally put up, and Ordered to be returned to the Wardmote
for Collectors of the Lamp tax for the year ensuing

Common
Council Men

Then Mr George Maynard< no role > and Mr William Chesson< no role > were
severally Nominated and Ordered to be returned to the Wardmote
for Common Council Men for the Year ensuing

Fine for
Ward Offices

A Complaint being afterwards made by Mr Henry
Newton that the Fine for Ward Offices were too high and ought
to be lowered It was thereupon Moved that an Order made at
a Precinct Meeting the 5th. day of September 1754 for Raising the
Ward Fines from £12 to £20 be now Read and the same was
read accordingly

And Mr Henry Newton< no role > then Moved that the said Order
of the 5th: of september 1754 be new Discharged, and being Seconded
the Question was put on the said Motion and past in the
Affirmative
