An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King at Tothill Fields Bridewell in the Parish of St. Margaret
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter , Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the Eighteenth day of March in the twenty fifth
Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of
Great Britain, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas
Prickard
< no role > , Gentleman , Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City and Liberty, on
View of the Body of Mary Fokes a Prisoner then and there lying dead, upon
the Oath of Samuel Ray< no role > , John Davies< no role > , John Sowton< no role >
James Hammett< no role > , Hercules Pasco< no role > , Joseph Phillips< no role > ,
William Fisher< no role > , Robert Porrant< no role > , Thomas Dewick< no role >
Richard Cox< no role > , Thomas Pearce< no role > and Dennis Anderson< no role >
good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
h er Death, do upon their Oath say, That the said Mary Fokes
being a Prisoner in Tothill Fields Bridewell aforesaid
in the Parish aforesaid within the Liberty and
County aforesaid, on the said Eighteenth day of
March in the Year aforesaid, at Tothill Fields
Bridewell aforesaid, departed this Life by the
Visitation of God in a natural Way to Wit, of a
Fever, and not otherwise. In Witness whereof
as well the said Coroner, as the said Samuel Ray< no role >
Foreman of the said Jurors on the behalf of
himself and the rest of his Fellows, in their
presence, have to this Inquisition set their Hands
and Seals the Day Year and Place abovementioned.
