<p n="3441">Upon debate of the matter Mr. Treasr. Tayler & Mr. Beanchamp (who together wth.<lb></lb>
Mr. Chamberlen Since deced had at ye desire of this Comee viewed the premisses)<lb></lb>
acquainted the Comee That the New River water Company would be Glad to take<lb></lb>
Some part of the Ground comprized in the said Lease to the said <rs type="persName" id="BBBRMG20204_n3441-3">Sarah Newby</rs>

Cordwell) upon advantageous Terms to the hospital But the Comee conceiveing<lb></lb>
they are not authorized by ye Court to treat wth. ye said Company It is<lb></lb>
Ordered That a Report thereof be made to ye Court for their direct walker in<lb></lb>
before the Comittee proceed further in the consideration of ye sd two petitions<lb></lb>
Whereupon It is Ordered by this Court That it be Referred back to ye same<lb></lb>
Comittee to receive proposals from the New River water Company relating to ye<lb></lb>
premisses & to Report their Opinion therein as well as on ye sd two petitions before Referrd<lb></lb>

Upon reading the humble Petition of ye four Beadles and porters man of this hospll.<lb></lb>
for their usual Gratuitys of forty Shillings a peice in respect of the halfe year<lb></lb>
ending at Midsumr. last for their salarys are but small It is Ordered that ye<lb></lb>
Clerk of these hospitals do give and pay unto them forty Shillings a peice to<lb></lb>
be allowd him in his next account</p>

Upon reading ye humble Petition of the three Basketmen of ye hospital of<lb></lb>
Bethlem for their usual Gratuitys of Twenty Shillings a peice in respect of<lb></lb>
ye halfe year ending at Midsumr. last for their Salarys are but small It is<lb></lb>
Ordered that ye Clerke of these hospitals do give and pay unto them<lb></lb>
Twenty Shillings a peice to be allowed him in his next account.</p>

This Court being informed That Mr. Bond Steward to his Grace The<lb></lb>
Duke of Dorset attended in the Lobby he was called in and acquainted ye<lb></lb>
Court That there is a peice of Ground (which is the burging Ground)<lb></lb>
of this hospital thro which there runs a Drain from North to south and<lb></lb>
empieth itself into ye Thames and that his Grace desires he may<lb></lb>
have liberty to Cutt a Drain of two foot and a halfe evide from the dead<lb></lb>
Wall on the West side of the Ground into the said Drain Whereupon<lb></lb>
It is Ordered that it be Referred to ye Comee of this house to Consider<lb></lb>
of the matter and to Report their Opinion therein to this Court and<lb></lb>
