Botolph without Aldgate in the Said County Beadle
maketh oath that it Appears by an Examination of Jane
Hopperton
< no role > Singlewoman in writing taken on oath before
Parker Rowlands< no role > Esquire late one of his Majesties Justices
of the Peace for the Sd County on the Seventh day of March
one thousand Seven hundred & Seventy Seven That She had
then a Child named Richard Johnson< no role > then Aged about
two months which was born of her body in Milk Street
in the Parish of Christ Church in the Said County the
which Child was Bastard & illegitimate by reason that
She the Sd Jane Hopperton< no role > was not married And this Depont.
farthr Saith that it also Appears by a Pass Order bearing
date the Said fifth day of March that the Said Jane
Hopperton
< no role > was removed from the Said Parish of Christ
Church to the Sd Parish of St Botolph witht Aldgate
as the place of her last legal Settlement together with
her Sd Bastard Child for Nurture And that in the
Work house of the Sd last mentioned Parish the Said
Child (as this Deponent has been informed & believes) hath
ever Since remained & as Yet remains & hath not to the
Knowledge or belief of this Deponent done Any Act to
gain a Settlement for himself
