Philip Tibbs< no role > of the Parish of Saint
George in the Sd County Cheesemonger and Thomas
Bampfield
< no role > of the Parish of St Botolph without
Aldgate in the Sd County Gentn severally make
oath And first the said Philip Tibbs< no role > for himself
Saith that he well knew Alexander Watt< no role > & Ann< no role >
his wife who are both lately deceased leaving
behind them four Children their lawful issue
to wit Ann< no role > Aged about thirteen Years George< no role > aged
about eleven years Phebe< no role > aged about Six Years &
Alexander< no role > aged about ten Months none of whom
to the Knowledge or belief of this Depont have as
Yet done any Act to gain a settlement for themselves
That in the Years 1775 1776 & 1777 the Sd Alexr Watt
the Father lived in & rented a house in Artichoak
Lane in the Sd Parish of St George & as he this
Depont has been informed & believes he was
Charged to and paid Kings Taxes for the
Same during Such his residence therein And
the Said Thomas Bampfield< no role > for himself Saith
that having inspected the Duplicate of the
Land Tax Assessment made for the Lower
Divission of the said Parish of St George for
the year 1774 in the Custody of Mr Major Wright< no role >
the Commissioners Clerk he this Depont finds
the Sd Alexander Watt< no role > to be therein Assessed in
the eight Page of the Sd Assessment in the sum
of fifteen shillings And by an original printed
receipt Appearing to this Deponent to be signed
