Nathaniel Lowrey < no role > . I am a poor watchman . On the 8th of July the prisoner came to inquire after a woman that had lodged in my house, and sat down a little while. When I was going out, I said she must go out, as I must lock the door. As soon as she was gone I missed my tea-kettle. I went and got a warrant from Justice Fielding, and when she was before him, she said she fell asleep in Bedford-row, and somebody stole the tea-kettle from her there. I never got it again.

Prisoner's Defence.

I know nothing about the kettle. I did not take it.

Guilty 10 d. W .
