And then it was agreed that the following
Preliminary Articles be Observed by the persons
who offer themselves as Candidates for the Place
of Organist of this parish Church

1st.

That all Persons paying to the Poor Rate
have a Vote of the said Election

2dly:

That all Persons who have been rated in the
books & have refused or neglected to pay
their poor Rates for two Years last past be
Excluded from Voting

3dly.

That whoever is chosen Organist shall
play to Midsummer next for the Benefit
of the Wido. of the deceased Organist witht.
Fee or Reward

4thly.

That the Organists Sallary for the
ensueing Year Commence from Michas
next at £30 P Annum

5thly.

That if a Poll shd. be demanded the Books
be opened to morrow at ten in the forenoon
& Closed at 4 in the afternoon and on
Friday & Saturday during the same
hours & then the Poll to be Closed

6thly.

That before the Election beging these
Preliminary Articles be read over to the
Candidates & that no person who refuses
to Subscribe his Assent to the same shall
be admitted [..] a Candidate

Resolved &

Agreed that the Organist be Chosen Annually on
the first Vestry Day after the Feast of St. Michael the
Archangel.
