The King and Clark-An Application was made requesting the
Vestry to Drop the Indictment investigated and Refused
A Malicious Report having been Spread as to Mr. Pedlingham
ill using Ann King< no role >
the other Party who was Indicted with
Clark and who was since dead the same was investigated and
Mr. Duncombe Mr. Wishart and Mr. Clark Examined and on
such Investigation and Examination Declared to be ill founded
and groundless
The Churchwarden and Vestry Clerk having Reported that they
could not find any Entry on Record that would give an absolute
Title to the Parish in the Beadles Staves (except the Purchase
in 1771 by the Order of Vestry of such Staves of the Beadles
themselves whose Power to sell them were disputed) and they
not being of that Value to make them an object of Litigation
Ordered that the Churchwardens Do give directions
for Two New staves to be made with the Parish Crest
an Anchor upon them and that they be Regularly
entered in the Churchwardens Inventory as Parish
Property
Mr. Churchwarden Hitchon proposed Mr. Thomas Rablus< no role >
of the
Butcher Row Tallow Chandler
and Mr. Samuel Oddy< no role >
of Vere Street
Carpenter
as his Securitys for Receiving the Rents of the Holborn
Estate being both well known.
Resolved that they be accepted without further Enquiry
And that the Vestry Clerk prepare the usual Bond
Ordered that the 2nd. Rate for the necessary Relief of the Poor be
at 7d. in the Pound Rents and that the Vestry Clerk do Rate the
Books accordingly
