Mr. Churchwarden Wallis reported to this Vestry that
that of late Years the Churchwardens have not had
Money sufficient to discharge the several Debts
incurred on Account of the Parish by which means
the present Churchwardens have not money to pay the
several Tradesmen's and other Bills and other great
Expences they have Unavoidably been at
A Motion was made by Mr. Bird and
Seconded by Mr. Heath and others and the Question
put whether a Church Rate be made to defray
the said Expences,
Which was Unanimously carried
in the Affirmative.
Whereupon a Motion was made and the Question
put whether said Rate be made at 3d, in the Pound
Rents,
Carried
in the Affirmative Nem:Con
Resolved and agreed that said Rate be made
at 3d, in the Pound Rents
Ordered the Vestry Clerk make said Rate with
all Expedition.
