Vestry met pursuant to Notice given in the Church
on Sunday last to take the Opinion of the Inhabitants
Whether it will be beneficial to this Parish to take
an Assignment of a Lease of a Piece of Ground
in St. Clements
Lane next adjoining to the
Houses jetting over the Green Church Yard from
Mr. Stichall the present Lessee under his Grace
the Duke of Newcastle-to agree upon the
Poors-Rate and appoint Governors of the Watch
for the Ensuing Year.

Resolved and agreed that it is the Opinion
of this Vestry that it will not be beneficial to
this Parish to take an assignment of a Lease as
above described from Mr. Stichall Which he
now holds by Lease from his Grace the Duke
of Newcastle
for the Term of 61 Years.
Resolved and agreed that the first Rate for the
necessary Relief of the Poor for the Year 1765, be
at 6d. in the Pound Rents, and that the Vestry
Clerk rate the Books accordingly.
