Several Clauses therein mentioned and also a Copy of a
Minute of St. George Hanover Square
dated the 8th.
day of April 1765, in relation to certain clauses in
Folio 17 figure 21.
Resolved and agreed and it is the Opinion of this
Board that several Clauses in the Bill now depend
-ing to enlarge the Powers of the Commissioners for
paving cleansing and lighting the Streets &c, will
be very expensive to the Inhabitants of the said
City and Liberty unless they are altered
And it is the Resolution of this Board to join
with the rest of the Parishes in the City and Liberty
of Westminster
in opposing the said Several Clauses
Resolved and agreed that the Churchwardens &
as many other of the Inhabitants as they shall desire
to Attend with them wait upon Lord Warkworth and
Mr. Sandys the present Members for Westminster
to return them thanks for acquainting the Inhabitants
of the Bill now depending in Parliament to Enlarge
the Powers of the Commissioners for paving cleansing
and lighting the Streets &c.
Resolved and agreed and it is the Opinion of this
Board that Strand Bridge
which is now in a very
ruinous condition ought to be rebuilt and that an
Estimate of the Expence and a Plan and Elevation of
the Rebuilding the same with Stone be laid before
this Board as soon as conveniently may be
