Said Office shall be by Ballot of this Committee, whereupon
such Ballot was immediately taken, when it appeared
that there were Eight Committeemen for the said Henry
Howell
< no role > being appointed and four for the said Benjamin
Poole
< no role > being appointed to the said Office Upon which
the Committee declared the said Henry Howell< no role > duly
Elected to the said Office and signed an appointment
of him to Collect the Rates not only from Lady day
last but also the Arrears of all former Rates or
Assessments

The said Henry Howell< no role > having proposed as his
Security for faithfull Execution of the said Office
David Watt< no role > of Newcastle Street Baker , Charles
Boyle
< no role > of Wych Street Gentleman and John Watt< no role >
of the same place Stationer this Committee
resolve that they be accepted and that the Clerk take
a Bond from them in One Thousand Pounds Penalty for his due
Execution of the said Office.

Mr. Hartley residing near the Coach Stand
at Temple Bar Complaining that the Grate of
the Sewer is greatly Sunk and Dangerous to the
Publick, which being upon View by Mr. Prince
found to be true Resolved that the Clerk write
to the Commissioners of Sewers to inform them thereof
and to request immediate Amendment

Great Complaint being made by several Persons
of the bad Light given by the Lamps as also of a
neglect in Cleansing in Clements Lane and little
Shire Lane Ordered that the respective Collectors
have notice thereof and that this Committee expect
Amendment
