At a Meeting of the Committee of Pavement Elected and appointed
pursuant to an Act of Parliament in the Vestry Room of Saint
Clement Danes the 2d. day of October 1772 .

Proposed and agreed that Mr. Kitchiner take the Chair.

The Minutes of the last Meeting read and Confirmed.

The Clerk having laid before this Committee a Bill from Peter Balchen and Co. for
Lighting Lamps on the subsisting Contract in the Strand Etc. from the 24th. June to the 29th.
September last amounting to £36:11s:3d. It is ordered that Mr. George do pay into the
hands of the Commissioners Treasurer the said Sum of £36:11s.3d. in order to discharge
such Bill and for that purpose that Mr. Kennett and Mr. Ireland do draw on the Banker

This Committee signed a Certificate of half a Years Salary due to their several
Officers at Michas last amounting to £52:10s.0d agreeable to the Committee resolution of the
3d. of April last.

The Committee signed a Certificate of Interest on Monies borrowed on the Credit of
the Additional Paving Rate at Michas last at four and a half per Cent Principal £2600
Interest £38..3s..1d. which Sum it is ordered be paid into the Bank to the account of the
Commissioners for which purpose Mr. Kennett and Mr. Ireland be desired to draw on [..] Banker

The Committee signed a Duplicate of the Rate or Assessment of one shilling in the Pound
(by them made on the 13th. day of June last) for the purpose of Repairing Cleansing and Lighting
several Squares Streets Lanes Etc. in this parish also a Duplicate of an Additional Rate of
Six pence in the pound by this Committee made on the same day on Streets Etc. Already
Paved in this Parish Also a Duplicate of another Rate of Sixpence for every Squares yard
of Pavement belonging to Churches Etc. by this Committee made on the same 13th. day of
June and appointed Mr. John George< no role > to Collect the said several Rates.
