Saint Clement Danes

Middlesex

to wit Elizabeth Smith< no role > aged about 38 years upon her
Oath saith that about 18 years ago she Intermarried with
George Smith< no role > her late Husband at the Parish of Saint Mary
Lambeth in the County of Surry that he has been dead about
2 years that her said Husband was an Irishman and never
gained a Settlement in England that she this Examinant was
bound an Apprentice by Indres duly executed to Evan Vaughan< no role > of
Fetter Lane for 4 or 5 years that after she had served about 12
Months her Master moved from Fetter to Chandos Street and staid the
about 12 Months that then here moved into the Strand in
the Parish of Saint Clement Danes in the County of Middlesex
that after she had been about 12 Months in the Strand
with her said Master she Intermarried with said
George Smith< no role > that after she quitted said Service She never
did any Act to gain a Subsequent Settlement And further
this Examinant upon her Voluntary Oath saith that she
is pregnant with Child or Children which is or are likely to be
born a Bastard or Bastards and to become Chargeable to
the said Parish of Saint Clement Danes That one
William Rice< no role > who did lodge in Old Nichol Street
Cock Lane near Shoreditch and by Trade a Broad Weaver
is the father thereof he having had Carnal knowledge
of this Examinants Body and begotten the same thereon and
that the said William Rice< no role > is the only real and true father
thereof
