to wit Sarah Mc Cloud< no role > Aged about Seventeen Years on her
Oath says she never was Married Rented House or paid Taxes
Says she lived a hired Yearly Servant with one Mr. John Colles< no role >
in Cumberland Court Drury Lane in the Parish of Saint Clement
Danes in the Liberty of Westminster for Two Years or thereabouts
at the Yearly Wages of Five pounds, hath Quitted her said Service
about a month ago and hath not since she Quitted the same ever done
any act whereby to gain a Subsequent Settlement and further on
her Voluntary Oath says she is Pregnant with Child or Children which
is or are likely to be born a Bastard or Bastards and to become
Chargeable to the said Parish of Saint Clement Danes she being
Poor and unable to Maintain the same when born says that one
John Alexander< no role > a Journeyman Smith who now works at a master
Smiths in Coleman Street London had Carnal Knowledge of
her Body in her said Masters house some time in July 1774 but
the particular day she does not now remember and at several
different times afterwards at one of which time or times he got
her with Child of the Child or Children of which she is now Pregnant
and that he said John Alexander< no role > and no other Person did
beget the same and that he is the real and true father thereof.
