Martha Harwood< no role > Aged about Twenty Years on
Oath Says she never was Married Rented House of paid
Taxes Says she lived a hired Yearly Servant with Mr.
Windle in Essex Street in the Parish of Saint Clement
Danes in the Liberty of Westminster & County of Middlesex
upwards of Three Years at the Yearly Wages of Seven Pounds
hath quitted her said Service about Ten Weeks ago and
hath not since she quitted the same ever Rented House
or done any other Act whereby to gain a Subsequent Settlement
And further upon her Oath Says that on Monday the Sixth
day of June Instant she was delivered of Male Bastard
Child in the House of Mr. Pollord in Devereaux Court Temple
Bar which is to be baptized John< no role > and is become Chargable
to the same she being poor and unable to maintain the same
Says that one John Croydon< no role > a Journeyman Taylor who lodge
at Mr. Silvester a Tripeman in Holles Street Clare Markett
had Carnal knowledge of her Body some time the beginning
of September East the Particular Day she does not now
remember and at sevl. different times afterwards at one of
which times he got her with Child of the Male Bastard Child
of which she was so delivered as aforesaid and that the said
John Croydon< no role > and no other person did beget the same and that
he is the real and true Father thereof
