in the thirty eighth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third,
by the Grace of God, of Great-Britain, France, and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith,
and so forth, before

and Liberty, on View of the Body of

lying dead, upon the Oath of the several Jurors whose Names are here under written, and
Seals affixed, good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly chosen, who being then and
there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the King, when, how, and by
what Means the said

came to h is Death, do upon
their Oath say that the said

on the fifteenth
day of September in the Year aforesaid at the Parish
and in the Liberty aforesaid to Wit, in endeavouring
to take a Coal Ladder out of one the Coal Barges on the Pavier

in order to bring it to Shore, he laid it flat on the Top of that and
another Barat near it, in order to walk over it, and whilst
he was walking over it, the said Ladder, by his Pressure
thereon, turned up on one side when It so happened
that accidentally, casually and by Misfortune he

fell from off the said Ladder
into the Water of the said River and was then and there
suffocated and drowned; of which Suffocation and
Drowning he the said

then and there
instantly died: And so the Jurors aforesaid on
their Oath aforesaid do say that the said

in manner and by the Means aforesaid
accidentally casually and by Misfortune came
to his Death, and not otherwise.
