Informations taken this Twenty
-seventh day of September 1788 at the
Parish of St. Margaret within the Liberty
of Westmr . in the County of Midsex upon a
Inquisition touching the death of William
Crew
< no role > lying dead in the said Parish Liberty
and County.

Joseph Ward< no role > of Jefferys's Buildings in the Parish
of St. Margaret Westmr. Chandler on his Oath saith
That last Night about Six o'Clock Mrs. Crew the [..]
Deced's Wife came to Dept. (who lives next Door [..]
the Deced) and informed him that her Husband
had Hanged himself upon which he went to
the Deced's Room in the House of John Phippse< no role > and saw him Hanging by a
Cord put over a Closet Door and foot red to a
Nail on the other side of the Door, and with
a running Noore around the Deced's Neck
Says that with a Knife he cut the Card, the
Body being Warm but the hands were Cold
Says that a Surgeon was fetched, who said
that it was too late, & that the Deced was dead
and Dept. [..] believes that the Deced Hanged
himself, Dept. says that the Deced has been
ill a long times and believes that he was
at time Delirious.
