John Sicker< no role > Journeyman to Mr. Richards
of the Strand Gunsmith on his Oath saith
that about half past Ten This Morning the
Deced came into Mr. Richards's Shop and
asked for a pair of Pistols, and on being
asked what sort Deced Answered, Dueling
Pistols Says that he shewed Deced a Pair
and said the Price was Seven Guineas
upon which Deced put down Seven Guineas
saying it was a great deal of Money
Says that he took the Money to give to his
Master in the Parlour, and Deced went
with him, that they met Mr. Richards, at
the Door coming into the Shop, and Dept
gave his Master the Money Says that
the Deced had one of the Pistols in his
Hand and asked for some Powder and
Ball Says that he saw Powder on
the Board in the Shop but did not see
the Deced put any into the Pistol, nor
a Ball, Says that the Deced walked
into the Parlour and was followed by
Mr. Richards, That they both come out
directly and Dept. thought that they were
going down Stairs to try the Pistol in the
usual Place, That Mr. Richards, with one Hand [..] hold
of one of the Deced's Arms, and of the
Knob of the Shop Door leading into the
Passage in the other Hand, when the
Pistol went off, Says that the Deced's
Back was towards this Dept. to that he
can not say whether the Deced discharged
the Pistol designed by or that it went
off Accidentally. Says that the Deced

when he came into the Shop this Morning
appeared to be Cool and Sensible, but
in a hurry to get his Business done

Thomas Beedle< no role > Valet and Butler to the
Deced on his Oath saith That he has lived
there upwards of two Years and an half
Says that he was called to the Deced this
Morning about Six o'Clock and attended
him chiefly from that time until he went
out between Nine and Ten o'Clock, Says
that Mrs. Harvey ordered this Dept. to
follow the Deced, who first went to the
Mount Coffee house where he staid some
time, and then took a Hackney Coach
in Bond Street and drove to several
Streets, this Dept. followed but Dept. order'd
him to return home, saying that he
was going to Lincolns Inn to make his
will, but Deced did not go there Says that on
his return home he was informed that
a Gentleman had shot himself at Mr.
Richards's in the Strand, and hearing
the Name of Harvey Dept. went in and
saw the Deced lying dead there. Says
that a Servant was sent Yesterday
to Dr. Morris with a Message, That
the Doctor came Yesterday in the Forenoon
and sent a Man in the Afternoon to
attend the Deced, on Account of an In [..]
of Mind as Dept. apprehended, but
Mrs. Harvey sent the Man back again
