An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King at the Parish of Saint George Hanover Square
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the Eighteenth day of April in the twenty fifth
Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of
Great Britain, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas,
Prickard, Gentleman, Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City and Liberty, on
View of the Body of a new born Male Child then and there lying dead, upon

good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said new born Male Child came to
h is Death, do upon their Oath say, That on the said Eighteenth day of
April in the Year aforesaid a certain Woman did bring forth the
said Male Child alive, And that on the same Day and Year the
said Woman or some other Person or Persons to the Jurors,
aforesaid as yet unknown with Force and Arms at the Parish
aforesaid within the Liberty and County aforesaid in and upon
the said Male Infant Child in the Peace of God and of our said Lord
the King then and there being feloniously wilfully and of his
her or their Malice fore thought did make an Assault, And that
the said Person or Persons to the Jurors aforesaid unknown the said
Male Child into the River near Chelsea Bridge in the Parish Liberty
and County aforesaid did then and there feloniously wilfully and
of his her or their Malice fore thought cast and throw, by Means
of which said casting and throwing the said Male Child in the Water
of the said River was Suffocated and Drowned, of which said Suffocation
and Drowning he the said Male Child then and there died. And that
the said Person or Persons unknown of his her or their Malice
fore thought the Male Child aforesaid in Manner and from
aforesaid did then and there kill and Murder against the Peace of
our said Lord the King his Crown and Dignity
In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner, as the said
William Kerr< no role > Foreman of the said Jurors on the behalf of
himself and the rest of his Fellows, in their presence,
have to this Inquisition set their Hands and Seals
the Day Year and Place abovementioned
