Informations taken this Thirtieth day
of August 1776 at the Parish of St. James
within the Liberty of Westmr. in the County of
Middlesex upon an Inquisition touching the
death of Anthony Maddox< no role > lyme dead in
the said Parish Liberty and County.

Mary Dissesson< no role > Widow a Lodger at Mr. Thomas
Mattison
< no role > in King Street in the Parish of St. James
with in the Liberty of Westmr. on her Oath Saith
That Anthony Maddex< no role > the deced came to Lodge
in the one pair of Stairs Room in the same
House with Dept. on Wednesday Night last
(Augt. 28.th) Says that she saw the Deced go out
Yesterday Morning, and that he returned in
about two Hours and went up Stairs towards
his Apratment, says that between Ten and
Eleven o'Clock last Night Dept,. was in her
own Room on the Ground Floor when she
heard a Noise overhead inthe Deced's Apartment
upon which she went up Stairs and finding
the Deced's Door Close but not fastened Dept.
went in and saw the Deced standing near a Table there
with a Reason in his Right Hand close to
his Throat & Drawing at mess his There at and Bleeding from a Wound in
the Thorat Says that the Deced did not speat
and that this Dept. called out to the other
Lodgers, who came there, and Deced in about
five Minutes fell down upn the Floor, did
not speak, but died in about half an hour
and Dept. believes that the Wound in Deced
Throat was the cause of his Death, and Dept.
believes that he gave himself the Wound will
the Razor which was found Bloody upon the
Table. on Person being in the Room, with Deced
when this Dept. first went up to him.
