Informations taken this 20th. day of
Septr. 1773 at the Parish of St. Margaret Vizt.
at Tothill Fields Bridewell within the Liberty
of Westmr. in the County of Midsex upon an
Inquisition touching the death of James Serjeant< no role >
a Prisoner lying dead in the said Parish Liberty of County.

Jonas Wareham< no role > a Prisoner in Tothill Fields
Bridewell in the Parish of St. Margaret Westmr . on his
Oath saith That he has been Prisoner there about
nine weeks, That the Deced was brought a Prisoner
to said Prison about Six weeks ago appearing to be
in good Heath, and continued to be so for about
afortnignt when he was Seized with an Ague and
Fever, and soon after a violent Purging, Says that the
Apothecary who attends the Prisoners bled the
Deced and sent him some Powders but his Disorder
continued and afterwards gradually grew worse and Deced
died about a Quarter after two o'Clock this Morning
in said Prison, Says that the Deced had his Alllowance
every day from the Governor, and that Mrs. Smith
usually sent him some Broth and Balin Tea
That the Deced was not ill used by any of the
Keepers or his Fellow Prisoners in said Prison
That the Deced was not Confined in any Close
or improper Place, and believes that the Deced
died a natural death
