Informations of Witnesses taken & acknowledged
this 30th, day of July 1773 , at the Parish of St.
George Hanover Square in the said Liberty at
the dwelling House of Mr. Aaron Piver< no role > the
Sign of the two Sawyers in Eaton Street
Pimblico . Before Thomas Prickard< no role > Gentleman
His Majestys Coroner for the said City and
Liberty touching the Death of John Clay< no role > then
and there lying Dead as follow

Thomas Marshall< no role > who lives at the Bank side Surry eight against
St: Pauls Waterman & Lighterman on his Oath says that on
Wednesday last about 3 or 4 o'Clock in the Afternoon he went with
the Deced in a Lime Barge belonging to Silvanus Cosvaller< no role > of
Charlton in Kent Lime Merchant, set out from the Water by the
Fire Engines at Pimblico to the Flood Gates Chelsea in the [..] th
of St. George Hanover Square in the Liberty of Westmr. they went
very Lafely till they cane to the Flood Gates they there came away & stayed till about half an hour after leven & weat into the Barge again and the Deponant
Carried a Rope out with an intent to leave the Barge through
against the Tide, while Deponent was making the Rope fast
the Barge run down againstandthe Counter Tide, the Deced had got
