Informations taken this Fifth day of March
1771 at the Parish of St. James within the Liberty of
Westmr . in the County of Midsex upon an Inquisiton
touching the death of a woman unknn. lying dead in
the said Parish Liberty and County.

George Kelman< no role > one of the Watchman of the Parish of
St. James Westmr . on his Oath saith that on Saturday Morning
last about half an hour after twelve o' Clock Dept. being
in Maggots Court in said Parish saw the Deced
coming up said Court from Piccadilly , & Staggering pretty
much Says that he told Deced that she was not able to
walk & that she much so with him to the Watch house, that
she made some Answer which Dept. did not understand, and
willingly went with Dept. to the Watchhouse, says that he
delivered her to the Care of Mr. Fox the Watchhouse keeper
and that the Deced then appeared to be in Liquor

John Fox< no role > Watchhouce keeper of the Parish of St. James
Westmr . on his Oath saith That on Saturday Morning
last a little before one o' Clock the Deced was brought
to said Watch house by Killman one of the Watchmen, and
appeared to be in Liquor, Says that she sat down upon a
Bench in said Watchhouse untill about three o' Clock
when she fell down upon the Ground off the Bench, that she
very soon got up and sat upon the Ground untill, Six o' Clock
in the Morning when Dept. went to Bed, leaving her
there, Says that he came there again about Ten o' Clock
the same Morning and found her sitting in the same place
where she continued untill about Eleven o' Clock, when
she laid herself down upon the Floor and died there between
One and two o' Clock on Saturday Afternoon, Says that
he Spoke to Deced several times in the Watchhouse, that
she made him no Answer, and died in Convulsion as
Dept. believes, and that the Deced reced no hurt or
Injury from any Person in said Watchhouse, And that the
Deced was not put into any place, but the Room in which the Constable
Site in which there was a Fire
