Elizabeth Jagoe< no role > an Infant of the Age of Fourteen Years
and upwards, living with Mr. Price a Coach maker in
Blew Anchor Yard Petty France Westmr. on her Oath saith
That on Saturday last between four and five o' Clock in
the Afternoon She saw a Woman (whose Name Dept. does
not know) standing at the Door of a House in which she
lodges in Blue Anchor Yard , who desired this Dept. to
fetch her a Pint of Beer, from the Alehouse, which Dept.
did, and gave it to her in a Corperal's Room on the
Ground Floor in the same House, Says that the Woman
Warmed the. Beer and put some Nutines therein, and
drank it, after which the Woman complained of a
pain around her Loyns, and seemed to be very uneasy
and sat upon a Solder's Horse, Says that she staid there
about half an hour, and then went away, Says that
she stood in Blaw Anchor Yard the same Night about
Seven o' Clock and saw the same Woman to whom she
had carried the Beer come out of the House in which
she lodged, with another woman dressed in a long
Red Cardinal Woman without the Cardinal having a
small Bundle that looked white in her Hands, but
when she was come out threw her Apron over it, Says
that they walked a few Yards together, and that the
woman to whom Dept. fetched the Beer, gave the Bundle
to the other Woman, who put her Cardinal over it,
and

and walked towards Queen Square , that she Crossed
the Street at the Corner of the Broad Way and came
back so far as Mr. Timbury's Door where she put down
a Bundle, which looked like that she took from the
other Woman, Says that the Woman gave two gentle
Knocks at Mr. Timbury's Door and then walked on
a little way further on that side of the Street, Crossed
the Street and went in again to the House which she
came out of in Blew Anchor Yard . Says that in a
very few Minutes she heard a Child cry, and asked
the Woman at the Milk Cellar if it was her Child that
cryd, to which the Woman Answered that it was not,
nor could this Dept. certainly say where the Cry came
from, but believes it was on the opposite side of the way,
and the cry of the Child in the Bundle at Mr. Timbury's
Door, Says that Mrs. Godfrey was then at the Milk Celler
and said that she heard a Child Cry and thought it must
be over the Way, in the hearing of the Woman at the
Milk Cellar, That Mr. Godfrey immediately went to
Mr. Timbury's Door, and Dept. followed, that a Soldier came
next with a Candle and was followed by Mrs. Cochran
Says that Mrs. Godfrey opened the Linnen in which
the Deced was Wrapt, and felt the Child's Head and
said it was Warm, and Mrs. Cockran said the same,
And the Dept. says that she has several times lately seen the Woman
for whom she fetched the Beer last Saturday, that she
appeared to be very big and Dept. thought her to be
with Child, and said that a Woman who lodges in the
same House lately told Dept. that she believed that Woman
was with Child, Says that she saw the Woman
yesterday in the same Room that she gave her the
Beer in, on Saturday, and that she did not look so
big as she did on Saturday.
