An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the King
at the Parish of St. Clement Danes in the Liberty of Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church
of St. Peter at Westminster in the County of Middlesex the fourteenth day of May in the Second Year of the Reign of our Sovereigns
Lord George the Third by the grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the
Faith and so forth, before Thomas Prickard< no role > Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City
and Liberty, on View of the Body of a Male Childthen and there lying Dead, upon the
Oath of Michael Hawkins< no role > William Curtis< no role > George Washington< no role > Thomas Easton< no role > Giles White< no role > James Cornwall< no role > , John

and John Forster< no role > , good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly chosen, and who being
then and there duly Sworn and charged to inquire for our said Lord the King, when how and by
what means the said Male Childcame to his Death, do upon their Oath say, That on
the twelfth day of Mary in the Year aforesaid a certain Woman Unknown did being forth a Male Child
alive, and that on the same day and Year a certain Person or Persons to the Jurors aforesaid.
as yet unknown, with Force and Arms at the Parish aforesaid within the Liberty aforesaid in
the County aforesaid in and upon the said Male Infant Child in the Peace of God and our said
Lord the King, then and there being feloniously wilfully and of his her or their Malice
fore thought did make an assault, And that the said Person or Persons to the Jurors aforesaid
unknow, [..] then and there feloniously wilfully and of his her [..] their Malice fore though [..]
the said Male Child did Choak and Strangle, of which said Choaking and Strangling the said Male
Child then and there instantly Died. And that the said Person of Persons unknown
of his her or their Malice forethought the Male Child aforesaid in manner and form
aforesaid did then and there Kill and Murder against the Peace of our said Lord the King
his Crown and Dignity. In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner as the said
Michael Hawkins< no role > Foreman, on behalf of himself and the rest of the said Jurors, in their
presence, have to this Inquisition set their Hands and Seals the Day Year and Place
first abovementioned.
