At the General Quarter Session of the Peace or our
Lord the King holden at the Town Court House now
Westmr: hall in and for the Liberty of the Dean and
Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St Peter Westmr :
the City Borough and Town of Westmr in the County
of Middx and St Martin Le Grand London by
adjornment on Wednesday the Twentieth Day of
July in the Thirty first Year of the reign of our
Sovereign Lord George the Second King of
Great Britain Etc before Barthelomew Hammand< no role >
Saunders Welsh< no role > Theodore Sydenham< no role > George
Wrighte
< no role > Charles Carkesse< no role > This name instance is in set 23762378. James Meyrick< no role > Esquires
and, others their fellows Justices of our said
Lord the King Assigned to keep the Peace in
the said Liberty and Also to hear & determine
diverse felonies Trespasses and other Misdeeds
Committed in the said Liberty

Whereas Complaint having been made to this Court of the
large Expences arising to the Inhabitants of this City and Liberty
of County of Middx from the Apprehending & passing of Vargrants
in and through this City and Liberty and County of Middx and for the
preventing of such large Expences for the future, It is unanimously
agreed by this Court that the Order made at the General Quarter Session
of the Peace held at Hicks hall in St John Street in and for the County
of Middx on Thursday the fourteenth day of July One Thousand
Seven hundred and fifty Seven in Relation to the passing of
Vagrants (and which every Justice of the peace of this City and
Liberty is Ordered to have a printed Copy of the said Order for
their better Notification) It is hereby recommended by this Court
to the Justices of the peace of this City and Liberty that they do as for
as in them lieth promote the said Method of Conveying the said
Rogues and Vagabonds as is prescribed and Setforth in the said Order
