Whereas Sr. Thos. Clarges< no role > Bart Knt.one of his Maties Justices of the peace of the
Liberty of the Dean & Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter Westmr . the
Borough & Town of Westmr. in the County of Middx and of the Quorum In [..]
in the sd. Liberty & in Westmr. Division in the Sd. County of Middx by writing
his Hand dated the 4th. day ofthis instant Febry 1736October 1737 hath Certifyed to this Court that
to an act of Parliatt. made in the sd. year of the reign of the late K. Wm &
Intituled an Act for paving & Reinsing the Streets in the Citys of London & Westmr
& Suburbs & Libertys thereof & out Parishes in the County of Middx & in the
Borough of Southwark & other places within the Weekly Bills of Mortality in
the County of Surry, & for regulating the Markets therein mencond, he hath viewed
a certain new street or Way (laid out & built on each Side with dwelling Houses
wch Street or Way is)calledGrosvenor King Street & in the Psh of St. Geo. Hannover
Square within the Sd. Liberty and upon his Sd. view did find that part thereof is already paved with Stone &
the Remr. is fit & convenient to be paved with Stone but for Want of such
Pavement & good order therein the Sd. Way is in a very ruinous & dangerous Condicon
& almost impassable for his Maties Subjects to pass & repass with their Coothes Carts & Carriages as they ought to do and that part of the sd. Street or Ward
is already proved with Stone (to wit) before the House & Garden Mr Brooke and that therein
so impaved does front two Houses of Ann Davis< no role > Wido . contg. in Length 64. Feet
more or less and two houses of Tho. Ward< no role > contg. in Length 63. Feet more or less
and the Ground or Land of Jon. Jenners< no role > & Wm. Jenners< no role > Extors & Jas. Jenners< no role >
deced contg. in Length 80. feet more or less This Court upon Condn. of the sd.
Cert doth think fit & order that so much of the sd. New Street or way called Grosvenor Street
