Purchased is three Acres and 29 Perches and the Price
thereof at £80 Per Acre is £254..10.. and the thanks
of this Committee have been given to Mr. Way for his
obliging attention to the interests of the Hospital And
the Conveyance of the Land to the Trustees of the Canal
hath been ingrossed and Sealed with the Hospital Seal
and the Purchase money of £254..10-.. received by the
Treasurer of this Hospital.

Dugleby the Surveyor's

We have ordered a Bill of Mr. Dugleby the
Surveyor for Surveying and making a Plan of St.
Thomas's Parish and for valuing Timber upon the
Hospital Estate at Orpington amounting to £54..10-
to be paid and the same hath been since paid.

Apothecary .

Upon the Petition of Mr. Whitfield the Apothecary
of this Hospital stating that he had been upwards of 40
years Apothecary of this Hospital and that by reason of
his advancing Age and consequent Infirmities he found
himself unable without some assistance to support the
fatigues of his employ We have appointed his Son Mr.
Richard Whitfield< no role > to assist his Father in all the duties
of his Office during our pleasure having been previously
fully satisfied of his abilities and qualification for the
Employ.
