The following Opinion of the Grand Committee of this
day being now laid before this Court Vizt.

That the Treasurer having Reported to the Committee
that the Physicians of this Hospital had applied to him expressing
their wishes to have some assistance in case of absence or
illness it being inconvenient to the other Physicians
in such cases to take the whole care of the Patients on
themselves. The Committee taking the same into
consideration were of Opinion that an Assistant
Physician is necessary, whose duty should be to take
the whole care of the Out Patients but without any
Salary and in case of the illness or absence by leave, of
any of the other Physicians the Assistant Physician
to do the duty of such absent Physician if he be so
requested; also that on the illness or absence of the
Assistant Physician the House Physicians do
resume during such illness or absense that Part of
their Present duty.

for election of assistt.

The same was unanimously approved and it is
Ordered That a General Court be held on Wednesday the
18th. day of August next for the Election of such
Assistant Physician.
