And after the reading and confirmacon of the Orders
and busines of the last Court it was Ordered as followeth

Report about the
houses in high street &
Gate there


The Comittee made A Report in Writing concerning the late
houses and Shopps in the high streete Southwarke scituate on the Northside
of the gate of this house and concerning the building of new houses
there which our President has shewed to the Court of Aldren and was
approved by them and is in the Words following

To the Right Woppll: the President and
Treasurer and Governors : of the Hospitall
of St: Thomas in Southwarke in the
County of Surrey

According to an Order of the last generall Court Wee the Comittee
whose named are subscribed has: Aentimes mett to putt the Report
concerning the houses and Shopps before the scite of the Hospitall in the
Hight Streete in the said Order menconed and recited in execucon And
for the better accomplishing the ends thereby: intended, Wee caused A
Scheeme or plott to bee drawne of the ground of the Shopps and houses
and Gateway to the Hospitall at then standing and therein a discripcon
of what was to bee cutt of from them to bee laid into the treete by Virtue
of the Do [..] of the Court of Judicature, in the said former reporte
menconed And the Indictments thereupon prosecuted and of what was
left remaining and finding the Shopps and houses must bee betterly demolished
or damnified equivolent thereunto in case of the cutting of soe much
and that the remaining ground of the Shopps would bee pseles and
the ground left (of one of the houses soo small as that an house could not
bee built thereon; And the Tennants soe conacious of their interests as
that they could not bee brought to quitt their Termes in the remaining
ground Albeit halfe or more of the termes of their [..]
were expired thought they should bee repaid the whole fine they
paid on recieving their respective Leases

Being in child difficulty and the time of the Sessions approaching
and haveing caused another Scheme or Draft to bee made for Fower
houses to bee built by addiccon of some other ground from adjacent
Wards
