The Treasurer acquainted the Court That there had been for
some time past a Suite depending in the prerogative Court of
Canterbury , brought by Christ Bridewell , Bethalem and this Hospitall
for obtaining a Legacy of one thousand pounds claimed by the
Hospitalls as given unto them by Mr: James Manrois< no role > deceased, And
latly a trear had happened between the Treasurers of the said Hospitalls
and the Administrators: of the said Manrois upon which Eight
hundred pounds was offered for the Legacyes and that the other
Hospitalls thought Fitt to comply there with and therefore the Treasurer
offered the consideracon thereof to this Court Whereupon It was
Ordered (in regard of the hazard of the issue of the suite) that this Court
will alsoe condiscend to the proposiall And the Treasurer is hereby impowered
to take the Sum of Two hundred pounds in full of our proporsion of
the said Legacy accordingly

Whereas Mr Jeremy Baines< no role > by his last Will did Give and bequeath
to this Hospitall his Trust and Estate in certaine Houses in St. Georges Pish
in Southwarke Which came to him as Surviving Trustee of Mr. John Man< no role >
And the Comittee having Viewed the houses and taken considercaon of the
whole matter did report their Opinions that it will bee for the benifitt of
this house to accept thereof; This Court did thereupon declare their
acceptance of the same in expectacon of the benifitt that may accrew thereby
after the Expiracon of a Lease made of the premisses to one Middleton
and his wife now held by Ann Jarvis< no role > for sixty one yeares from Michas
1656: Whereupon is now and will continue payable to the end of the Terme
the kent of Thirty five pounds P Annu and it is conceived the houses
are much more worth; Although there be payable out of the same

Since which there hath beene bought according to the said Order the said Anuitys
of Mr. Carleton, and Three of the be heires of Elizabeth Dowse< no role > which is in all
Seaventeene pounds and tenn Shillings P Annu: But that of Frances Dowse< no role >
is not bought shee being (they say) absent in Virginia neither hath shee
received or anie for her any part of her Share (being Fifty Shillings P Ann)
since the Hospital has received the profitts.
