Minutes of the Committee appointed to Inspect the
General Concerns of the Prisoners belonging to this County
hold at the House of Correction in Cold Bath Fields on
Saturday the Fifth day of March 1796

The Minutes of the last Meeting were Read and Confirmed

The Revd. Mr. Evans Chaplain to the New
House of Correction attended and being called in and Questioned
as to the Rules and Orders for the government of the New House
of Correction Answered

To the 40th. Rule That instead of the prayers being at ½ part
Eleven o' Clock every Wednesday and Friday as provided by this
Rule, that the Prisoners are taken into the Chapel immediately
after Breakfast, before they return to their Work; that every
Prisoner in health attends his Duty in the Chapel; that he
occasionally delivers a short Exhortation to the prisoners, and
sometimes he Teaches the Young Prisoners their Catechism, or
gives them such other Instruction as he sees necessary, and
that he attends such of the prisoners as are sick, and gives
them suitable advice
