saith, That he is one of the overseers of the
Poor of the said Parish, that in pursuance of a Warrant or Order
under the Hand and Seal of John Floud< no role >

one of His Majesty's
Justices of the Peace
for the said County, requiring, the overseers of the
Poor of the said Parish of Saint Leonard Shoreditch
to pay to Margaret

the Wife
of John French< no role >
then a substitute serving in the West
Regiment of the Kent Militia
for James Clark< no role >
of the
Parish of Queens
borough
in the County of Kent
, the weekly allowance and Sum of
Three shillings, for the support of the said Margaret French< no role >
and her
Child; he this Informant hath paid her the said Margaret
French< no role >
from the thirtieth day of April last to the fourth day of
June Instant, weekly the Sum of Three shillings; And this
Informant saith that the said Margaret French< no role >
hath confessed
that her said Child has been dead for three Months last past,
and that this Informant dothhathbelieve that the said John
French< no role >
is discharged from the said Militia, and that the
said Margaret French< no role >
hath knowingly and designedly received
and obtained Seven shillings and Six pence from this Informant
by virtue of the said order with Intent to Cheat and defraud
the Parishoners of the said Parish of Saint Leon and Shoreditch
,
of the same.

Beadles
of the said Parish of Saint Leonard Shoreditch

and that he apprehended the said Margaret French< no role >
,
who confessed to this informant that her said Child
has been dead for three Months last past, which this
informant believes to be true.
