Session House for a Middlesex
20th. January 1785

Minutes of the Committe appointed To examine and adjust from time
"to time the Account or Accounts of the Treasurer of this County as well with
"respect to his Receipts as his Expenditures and also to examine and audit all
"demands of what nature or kind soever made upon this County previous to
"the Payment thereof".

Read the order of Referrence to this Committee made at the last Session of the
Peace holden for this County Vizt To take and examine the Account of the
"Executors or legal Representative of Mr John Benson< no role > deceased late Treasurer
"of this County of all Monies received and paid by the said Mr. Benson since his
"last Account settled as such Treasurer and Receiver"

Mr Benjamin Burchell< no role > attending for the legal Representative
of Mr John Benson< no role > deceased late Treasurer of this County The Committee
proceeded to examine the Accounts produced when it appeared as follows

That there are three distinct heads of Account Vizt

1st. County Rate
2d. County Rents
3d. Haymarket Tolls

That in respect to the County Rate the
Accounts of Mr Benson as Treasurer of this
County were made up examined and allowed
to the 20th. day of April last and by which Account
there was a Balance remaining in his hands of}

That by an Order of Court in April Session
last a County Rate was directed to be levied for
the Sum of}

That Mr Benson received of the Rate
immediately proceeding the Rate in April and
which in the last settlement of his Accounts
was charged as deficient}

on Account of subsisting the Wives and Families
